Feed-in Tariff Program

A feed-in tariff or FIT is a straightforward way to contract for renewable energy generation. It provides standardized program rules, prices and contracts. The program is divided into two streams - FIT and microFIT. The FIT Program is for renewable energy projects that can generate more than 10 kilowatts (kW) of electricity. Very small projects, at a home or small business, that can generate 10 kW or less come under the microFIT Program.

Effective April 4, 2011 – FESTIVAL HYDRO HAS RESUMED THE ACCEPTANCE OF FIT AND MICROFIT APPLICATIONS FOR INSTALLATIONS IN STRATFORD.  THE CONSTRAINT AT THE STRATFORD TRANSFORMER STATION HAS BEEN ALLEVIATED.  THE SITUATION IS DYNAMIC AND THIS NOTICE WILL BE UPDATED WHEN NEW INFORMATION COMES AVAILABLE.  SYSTEM CAPACITY IS VERIFIED WITH EACH APPLICATION AFTER A FORM B OR FORM C HAS BEEN RECEIVED.  APPLICANTS ARE ADVISED TO NOT INCUR EXPENSES UNTIL SYSTEM CAPACITY HAS BEEN CONFIRMED WITH FESTIVAL HYDRO AND THE OPA.
