Ever had the power go off in the middle of a project?
It usually happens after you've worked on something for about a half hour, you were JUST about ready to save your file... and ZAP! The power goes out just long enough to reboot your entire system. Naturally, everything that you did since your last save has been zoned into the ether. And when it happened, you probably blamed us!
While we at Festival Hydro endeavour to provide our customers with regular and uninterrupted electrical service, we can't guarantee that there won't be occasional blips. A problem with a transformer caused by a downed tree, lightning, or an animal may cause it to reset momentarily, which can cause a very brief interruption in service. While for most folks the inconvenience is minor, we appreciate that for those who work on computers, the loss of data and time can be frustrating.
In addition, occasional fluctuations in voltage (usually due to electrical storms) can cause much worse damage than loss of data. These types of power spikes can actually damage your equipment.
That is why we strongly recommend the use of both a line conditioner (spike protection) and an Uninterrupted Power Backup System (U.P.S.)
Visit a computer retailer or contact your computer specialist for details on how you can purchase this relatively low cost insurance for your hardware, your data and your productive time!
Remember... save your work frequently and back up your files!
